ABOUT

Born and raised on the vibrant Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao, my journey thus far has been anything but linear. Moving to the United States to pursue my studies was instrumental in transforming my outlook on life. I cultivated a wider sense of independence, where my creativity and desires felt limitless, while experiencing real life in a foreign country with a deep understanding of resilience and reinvention.

As a Xennial, I’ve learned to embrace the beauty of living with both wisdom and curiosity. During my dark night of the soul phase,  I learned to peel back layers, undergo soul-level cleansing, and confront the death of an older version of myself while I faced the actual loss of a parent.

These experiences have deepened my pursuit of ambitious goals while keeping me grounded in authenticity.

Through this space, I aim to celebrate the magic of individuality in all its complexity and expression. Embracing a dynamic version of 40+, one that is boundless in its potential.

To add to the list of experiences returning to Curaçao, where I am from originally as a local foreign,  gives a unique layer and cultural depth to my journey.

I have a deep nostalgic love and fresh excitement for what Curaçao is and the potential it holds. As my current base I  am excited about how the now looks.

Honestly,

consistency with my art has been a constant struggle. For years, I danced between inspiration and hesitation, never fully committing to the creative space I knew was meant for me. But these past two years forced me to face that head-on. I had the time to sit with it, to see the pattern, and most importantly, to disrupt it. I’m still working on fully breaking the cycle, but I am moving forward with a rewired mindset.

I’ve been weaving in and out of this space for over a decade—that’s how Taste + Labels first came to life back in 2015. At the time, I had just moved from Miami Beach to Milan and thought documenting the process would be a great idea—but I wasn’t fully focused enough to truly step into it.

Fast forward to 2023, while in Colombia, I locked in. I worked relentlessly on Luginism, posted here and there, but most importantly—I showed up for myself. That step? Monumental.

Now,  a decade later, I’m pulling Taste + Labels out of the archives— And this time? The Now-Me is taking the reins—unapologetic, intentional, and ready.
