A soft overpowering of the soul

Lately, I’ve been working harder on truly fighting the system. Not the political system, not hustle culture, but the nervous system. The internal one who has played a starring role on storing grief, overthinking, hypervigilance, heartbreak, responsibility, and years of emotional overstimulation. At 40 and with all the information out there to fight this power, it is up to us to do the deligent work on getting better and cease blaming external forces for all that we....

here’s something about the way Moon River by Frank Ocean has been on repeat for me lately. The way it quietly helped me usher out the last fragments of what I consider the final lingering piece of my previous self should honestly be studied.

Music has a way of slipping past the mind and speaking directly to the spirit. Somewhere between the softness of the song and the quiet moments it accompanied, I could feel something gently closing.
